Pre- & post-assembly activities
The EGU General Assembly 2017 will bring ca. 14,000 geoscientists from all over the world to Vienna at the same time. In the past, some of you have already used this opportunity to organize short courses on the Sunday before the General Assembly starts. Please note that in 2017, these short courses are meant to be held in the Austria Center Vienna (ACV) and will be considered part of the regular programme in programme group SC.
Besides these early short courses, some of you will use the opportunity to organize any other events or workshops before or after the EGU2017 taking place outside of the ACV and outside of the official EGU2017 conference programme, but still in Vienna and in close connection with the General Assembly.
To make such events visible to all EGU2017 attendees, we offer for the first time the opportunity to list them inside the programme as “sessions” of the dedicated programme group “Pre- & post-assembly activities”. Attendees will see these activities in the online programme as well as in the mobile app, and can add them to their personal programme.
If you are organizing a pre- & post-assembly activity in Vienna in the week before or after the EGU2017, and you are interested in listing your event in this programme section, please send an email by 1 March 2017 with the following information to email@example.com:
- Title of the event
- Organizers (name and email)
- Venue (name of hotel/building, name of meeting room, street and number, and URL)
- Date and time
Please arrange meeting locations on your own. Possible venues nearby the ACV are the following.
